Paseo de la Reforma Avenue in Mexico City was closed during the morning of Sunday, February 16, due to the sporting event for Valentine's Day, "I Love Run 2025 - 10 and 5 Kilometers MXRACE." The race route included this important road, with the start and finish at the Cultural Center of Los Pinos in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, causing chaos and inconvenience among some unsuspecting drivers.
In light of the closure of Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, the Traffic Orientation Center (OVIAL) of the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) has recommended some alternative routes to drivers. These include President Masaryk Avenue, Ring Road, Constituyentes Avenue, Chapultepec Avenue, Tiber River, and Gutenberg.
Once the "I Love Run 2025 - 10 and 5 Kilometers MXRACE" is finished, it is expected that CDMX authorities will reopen vehicular traffic on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue on the same Sunday, February 16, to facilitate circulation in the area. OVIAL has shared images and videos of the sporting event showing runners and cyclists participating in the race.
